Deep Down
What feelings one holds deep inside
That eats away and affects the mind
Sad in mind, in thought, in word
Life that seems gone or absorbed
A constant ache is felt within
Will it ever in this life subside
The pain sinks down so far
And the heart that loved
In pieces it lay, ripped into two
All and more still confused
Totally within and not amused
Nothing more than a dream
The unconscious at work
The want to awake and find
This pain a nightmare
Then realize in mind
The pain will continue to lurk
Move and shift
Deep in the bowels
Attacking any thought
Letting nothing go untouched
Escape its deep rift
And here I shall remain, bound.
