Daze 5
Ode To Parents
From the time of diapers and little toy trucks
Our parents were there beside us
As the years passed
We grew up in a flash
Our parents relentlessly trying to guide us
In no time at all
We were off in these halls
Life was around us
What thanks we owe
Our dear parents
For the choice
This choice, our life
Our mothers sent us off
Still holding on
As our fathers cheered us on
To meet the challenges of each day
We entered this flow of life
As lowly freshmen
We slowly strived
To shine bright as individuals
We have our distinction
But we are one
We are friends
Beholding friendship
Our mothers were there
To help us along with
A saddened thought in mind
"My baby has grown up
Now a young man
Ready for life
What happened to the time."
Our father's boast
He offers a toast
The apple of hi eye
Father's boy, a fine young man
He now cherishes the time they had
We owe all that we are
So much more by far
To our guardians
To our friends
Our parents.
