A Wish On A Star
One night
While the moon shined bright
A child made a wish on a star
The child's wish
Which he made on that star
Was the same wish he made
Exactly one year ago
According to the memory of his heart
A wish as simple
As the wind
A wish as pure
As his heart
A wish not of new
But only of few
A wish his grandpa had taught
A wish for winter
A start of the cold
A call for the magic
That the heavens bestow
A wish that was made
In times long past
A wish on a star
A wish of snow
"Star, star, in the night sky
Here's my wish to you
May the lands be covered
With blankets of white snow
May the fields be white
With the angelic dust
May the winter be bright
And the heavens keep the cold upon us."
The child sat and stared
After he finished his verse
At the star in wonder
In hope of a sign
The star high above
Brightened to the sight
And the child smiled
In utter delight.
