Comtemplative 9

A Child

Life starts simple and innocent
But who is to say what's next

Are we to say how
A child is to be raised

To decide at what time
A child loses their innocence

In an imperfect world
Our world, today

A child lives the life
That many adults do

Losing their childhood
Carefreeness gone forever

Why must a child face this?
What right do we have?
Putting our problems on them

To just turn and face our children,
Eye to eye, and tell them it is their problem.
