Comtemplative 1

Immortal

A man who went round the world
Bore one wish at mind
To live forever and never die
A life eternal

He searched his life
For the secret he sought
To be an Immortal mortal

Far and wide
His journey took him
Across many mountains
He went searching

Through Africa
And the Far East
The farthest reaches of the world

He followed legends
And stories of all kinds
Fountains and some bizarre rituals

He sought the wisest of men
He sought the oldest men
Even everyone around him

He read books
Translated scrolls
Studied art of all kinds

Nothing he found seemed to work
Except to instill
False hope in his heart

His search turned futile
Near the end
For death was approaching
He was at a dead end

But little did
He realize
How easily Immortality
Is achieved

In the memories and stories
Told through time
In the minds of mankind.
